Hi, Everyone! And welcome to my blog! – a source of inspiration for traveling, art, cool hidden spots, and lifestyle! I hope for my stories to be empowering and moving so you could take a piece of it with you and conquer life!

I grew up in Russia in an industrial city called Izhevsk which is near the Ural mountains. After graduating from University there in 2006, I decided to take on adventure and went to the United States. I was 21 at a time. I started my journey in Washington, DC but after about a year living there, the beaches of Miami and a slow-paced beautiful life allured me. The next thing I knew, I was there. Little did I know that I would end up living for 9 years in Florida 😱.

My dream, however, had always been to live in New York City. Finally in 2016, my husband and I made our way there full of hopes and excitement. Everything turned out to be amazing and just as we expected. I grew up both personally and professionally there and happy to call this city my home ❤️.

At the end of 2018, my husband received an interesting job opportunity in London, UK and so we decided to take on yet another journey. After spending just a bit over a year in London we took a decision to go back to NYC early 2020. We returned to New York and can’t be more happy about it 🙂

I am an organization freak when it comes to everything! I like structure and when things are in their own place. Give me a mess and I will make something beautiful out of it in no time. I’ve also always loved blogging, the internet and creating websites which, along with my love for order, led me to apply at Automattic where I currently work as a Software Quality Engineer.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I love traveling and exploring new places. The city and urban life inspire me the most! My perfect weekend would be wandering around town looking for hidden local gems. I am also a huge fan of analog photography and a film camera is always with me to capture the moment.

I have always believed that in order to live a full interesting life one must explore the world. It is easy to give up if something doesn’t go your way but it will all work out if you maintain a positive attitude. Today, I want to encourage you to go out there and find new opportunities. Keep moving forward. If you fall, get up, shake it off and advance further. Every day we have a chance to start over – one of the most precious gifts we are given. Don’t take it for granted. Always dream and dream big!

Julia  🙂
